The Chief of General Staff of the Senegalese Armed Forces Lieutenant General Mbaye Cissé, and team last week paid a courtesy visit to the Vice President of The Gambia, His Excellency Mohammed B.S Jallow.
Part of the purpose of the visit was to extend respect to Vice President Jallow and to convey well-wishes. During their closed-door meeting meaningful discussions were made related to the collaboration between the military forces of both nations to address common security challenges.
The meeting also underscored the commitment of The Gambia and Senegal to fostering a relationship that goes beyond geographical proximity. Lieutenant General Cissé expressed optimism about the positive outcomes of the discussions and the potential for enhanced collaboration in the future.
This high-level engagement reflects the ongoing efforts of both countries to strengthen regional partnerships and promote peace and security in the West African sub-region.
The meeting was attended by The Gambia’s Minister of Defence, Hon. Sering Modou Njie, and Chief of Defence Staff of The Gambia Armed Forces, Major General Mamat O. Cham.
