About Us

Gambia Daily news paper is the official paper of the Government of the Gambia published by the Department of Information Services (DOIS) under the Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure, with a mission to ensure that Government communicates effectively. It’s a public sector entity funded from the regular budget of the Central government

Although the paper was established as far back as 1943, it only reported news from the government. Soon after independence, the Information Services was transferred to the Office of the Prime Minister and by the mid-1970s, the country’s Information Services evolved into a fully-fledged Ministry of Information and Tourism.The Gambia Daily today carries information and news about all sectors of the state, as well as stories of human interest.

Attain a highly effective, reliable and trustworthy public information services delivery system in The Gambia

Objectives

To improve access to information with a view to strengthening good governance, democracy, decision making processes and freedom of expression in The Gambia

 

To enhance the delivery of strategic information to the Gambian public, local and international stakeholders
