The outgoing UN Resident Coordinator in The Gambia, Ms. Seraphine Wakana, recently bade farewell to the Vice President of The Gambia, His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow at State House, Banjul.
During their meeting, they engaged in fruitful discussions concerning the UN’s initiatives in The Gambia. Ms. Wakana shared that she is “leaving the Gambia, with a sense of satisfaction”.
In acknowledging Vice President Jallow’s vital support throughout her tenure, Ms. Wakana extended gratitude. She specifically highlighted the Vice President’s guidance and leadership in critical areas such as social protection, migration, and humanitarian and risk management issues.
“We are thankful for the advice he has been giving, and we appreciate his leadership in particular domains,” she remarked.
This farewell meeting underscored the collaborative efforts between the UN and The Gambia, with Ms. Wakana leaving on a positive note, recognising the support and leadership provided by Vice President Jallow in addressing crucial issues affecting the nation.
