The Belgian Friends of The Gambia (BFoTG) recently presented medical and educational items to New Yundum Health Centre and Lower Basic School in the West Coast Region.
Speaking at the handing over ceremonies of the items held at both the health centre and school premises, Patrick De Vos, chairman, BFoTG, expressed his organisation’s gratitude to the staff of both the health centre and the school for the warm welcome they accorded his team members.
He informed the health centre and school authorities that they are sponsoring 280 students from sursery to senior secondary schools throughout the country.
Mr. De Vos promised that come next year, his organisation will ship a container to The Gambia with medical items purposely meant for New Yundum Health Centre.
“This year, we brought the following medical items to New Yundum Health Centre; namely: computers, hygienic pads for women, baby clothing, wheelchairs, bandage items for treating sounds,” Mr. Vos revealed.
BFoTG also made similar presentation of packages for their sponsored students in Latri-kunda Sabiji Upper Basic School, St. Therese’s Lower Basic School where they are sponsoring 53 students, Bakoteh Upper Basic School, Nyodema Nursery school, Bakoteh Annex Lower Basic school, Bakoteh Proper Lower Basic school, visit to organization’s project site at Widdar Nursery School all in Region one, Jambangjelly Nursery school, Sifoe Lower Basic Schooland New Yundum Lower Basic school all in Region two.
He revealed that his organizationwill start up a Computer Labat St. Therese’s Lower Basic school thus stating that this year his organization brought 70 desktops, 20 Laptops, 50 screens, 5 expensive IMac’s, 25 new keyboards, mouse, headphones, VGA cables and power cables.
