ABU DHABI, 10th November, 2023 (WAM) -- ADNEC Group and Emirates News Agency (WAM) confirmed that for the second year, the NextTech Innovation Stage will host media startups from across the world at this year’s Global Media Congress, taking place in Abu Dhabi from 14 – 16 November 2023.
As the Middle East’s premier event for media startups and investors, The NextTech Innovation Stage will give early-stage startups a platform where they can showcase their solutions and capabilities in front of an audience of industry professionals and investors.
With 25 early and growth stage startups from across the world, participants will showcase their cutting-edge solutions, employing AI, machine learning, AR/VR, sustainable media solutions, innovation content production methods and a wide range of other technological applications for the media industry. These startups will gain unparalleled access to an audience of media industry leaders, influencers and investors, offering them the opportunity to catalyse their growth journeys, network and forge partnerships.
The event will culminate in the GMC NextTech Pitch Competition to present their products and services to leading investors, key stakeholders, venture capital firms and industry experts. A panel of esteemed judges from Huawei, Tecom Group, Abu Dhabi SME Hub, Plug Play and The Collective Hub will evaluate their technical performance, the viability of their products, and their potential in the market.
Prizes will be awarded, with first place receiving an AED50,000 cash prize to support their business growth, second place will receive membership from Dubai Media City, an enabling platform for entrepreneurs and startups nurturing business to their next stage of growth, and third place will receive a free exhibitor stand at next year’s Global Media Congress.
Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the Global Media Congress and Director-General of WAM, said, “In a crowded market, startups need as much exposure as they can get. Following the success of last year, we wanted again to give media startups from across the world the opportunity to get face-to-face with the change makers and investors transforming the media landscape. The Global Media Congress seeks to chart the course of the future of the media industry, and by bringing together innovative companies and industry professionals, we hope to accelerate the exciting partnerships that will define the sector for years to come”.
