The United States Ambassador to The Gambia, Sharon L. Cromer, recently made a courtesy visit to the Minister of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration, and Employment, Hon. Baboucarr O. Joof, at his office in Banjul.
During their meeting, the two discussed key private sector issues in The Gambia, including the B-Ready initiative, the investment climate, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
Minister Joof also shared insights into several projects that his ministry is currently undertaking, highlighting initiatives such as the Special Economic Zone, the Jokalanteh Platform, and SheTrades. These projects are designed to create jobs and enhance the socio-economic development of the country.
Highlighting The Gambia’s strategic location for regional trade and economic integration, the Minister emphasised that the country is open and welcoming to American investors looking to explore opportunities under the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).
