Passport Enrollment Services Decentralised -Application Fee to be D5100 from May 1st

Banjul, 14th April 2025: The Government of The Gambia, through the Ministry of Interior and The Gambia Immigration Department, has announced that passport application and enrollment services will be decentralised effective 1st May 2025.
The service will available at four mobile centres within the Gambia; namely Soma, Bansang, Basse and Farafenni.
This information is contained in a public notice from the Ministry of Interior.
In the statement, the Ministry says the move aims to relieve citizens at home from the long-standing difficulty of traveling to obtain biometric passports from the only centre in Banjul. 
The notice also indicated that the Government will, in due course, establish application and enrollment centres overseas after finalising the required logistics.
Four overseas centres will be established in the following locations: Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States of America, with the intention to expand in the future.
The first phase of the service will be available to Gambians in Italy and Spain, to be followed by the establishment of centres in the United Kingdom and the United States of America in the second phase.
In the same text, government announced that Biometric passports obtained in The Gambia will now cost D5,100, while those obtained overseas will cost : 120 Euros or its equivalent in US Dollars effective 1st May 2025.
