VP Applauds EBID for Pivotal Role in Financing Vital Infrastructural, Institutional Projects

Banjul, 16th April 2025: The Vice President, His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow, on Monday, 14 April presided over the 23rd Annual General Meeting of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) Board of Governors, on behalf of His Excellency President Adama Barrow, at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre (SDKJ-ICCC) in Bijilo.
The high-level convergence brought together key stakeholders from across West Africa to deliberate on transformative strategies for regional development, integration, and sustainable investment.
In his keynote address, Vice President Jallow acknowledged EBID’s pivotal role in financing vital infrastructural, social, and institutional projects across ECOWAS Member States. 
He further applauded the Bank’s innovative approach to mobilising resources and driving socio-economic growth.
VP Jallow reaffirmed The Gambia Government’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with EBID in tackling shared challenges such as unemployment, poverty, climate change, and social injustice. 
He emphasised the importance of the Recovery-Focused National Development Plan (RF-NDP) as a blueprint to transform The Gambia across all sectors.
“The Gambia stands ready to leverage EBID’s instruments to unlock opportunities for poverty alleviation, wealth creation, and employment—ultimately enhancing the lives of our people and the wider ECOWAS community,” he concluded.
