The Islamic Republic of Mauritania’s Trade Minister Ahamed Ahamed has headed a delegation of business executives to The Gambia.
As the special envoy of the Mauritanian president, Minister Ahamed and his delegation met President Adama Barrow in Basse, where he was inaugurating the newly built Gambia College School of Education Basse annex. The Mauritanian dignitary was accompanied to the Upper River Region by Gambian Trade minister Lamin Jobe, Gambian Ambassador to Mauritania, and the president of the Mauritanian community in The Gambia, Ahamed Seedy.
After the meeting, Mr Seedy revealed to the press their delight and appreciation for meeting the President, and largely the stable and friendly atmosphere the community has been enjoying in Gambia. “This is our second country. We thank the government of the Gambia through the President and all Gambian people for the hospitality we continue to enjoy in this country”.
He affirmed that this is a delegation of business people and that they have strong interest in investing in The Gambia. “The country is stable and peaceful; hence good for investment,” he added.

Mr Seedy further disclosed that the delegation was invited by President Barrow during his last visit to Mauritania. He said the President was quite happy to receive them.
