Banjul, 20th February 2025: In a press release issued yesterday, the Ministry of Interior revealed that efforts are being made to integrate the security fee levied on departing and arriving passengers at the Banjul International Airport, into the cost of air tickets.
However, the Ministry emphasised that until then the fees remain as follows: D1000 for Gambian passport holders and $20 or its equivalent for non-Gambian passport holders
The Airport security fee payment came through a signed-agreement between Government of The Gambia and Securiport LLC for the implementation of a Civil Aviation and Immigration Security System (CAISS) at the Banjul International Airport.
This contract aims to enhance the safety and security measures at Banjul International Airport.
The Interior Ministry concludes the release by expressing appreciation for the cooperation of the public in the implementing the CAISS project for enhanced security, and assured of the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring seamless border operations and the security of all passengers.
