Apollo Tours Expresses Interest in Full Time Operation in Gambia

Johanna Thors, a representative of Apollo, a Danish-based international tour operator last week made a courtesy call on the minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, at his office in Banjul.
Speaking during the meeting, Madam Johanna expressed Apollo’s keen interest in operating in The Gambia, citing that The Gambia is an outstanding tourism destination.
 She said this is their maiden season operating in The Gambia, as a result of a joint marketing venture they have entered into with The Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard), and that they wish to continue working with the GTBoard. 
The Director General of The Gambia Tourism Board, Abubacarr S.  Camara, who was also in attendance, attested that the joint marketing agreemet between Apollo and the Board has contributed to an increase in arrival numbers for Destination Gambia this year. 
On receiving the Apollo representative, Honorable Minister Abdoulie Jobe thanked Johanna and local partner, Malleh Sallah, for the warm courtesy call. 
He encouraged The Gambia Tourism Board and Apollo to continue working together. This, he said, will assist the country regain the Scandinavian market. 
Minister Jobe assured the team of The Gambia Government’s commitment to supporting Apollo’s operations in the country.
