WACC gives food, medical items to Kerewan Samba Sira

The Women Advancement and Child Care (WACC), headquartered in Brikama Misira, West Coast Region, has recently donated 70 bags of 25kg rice and medical items to the community of Kerewan Samba Sira, Lower Fulladu West, in the Central River Region.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, the chairman of the organisation, Haruna Bah, explained that the organisation has spent forty- eight thousand two hundred and fifty Dalasi on the items. He said the donation is part of their complementing government’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19.

Chairman Bah used the opportunity to call on Gambians to abide by the precautionary measures outlined by the Ministry of Health and WHO.

Speaking on behalf of the women of the village, Penda Baldeh and Fanta Jawla, both hailed the organisation for its timely support. They used the opportunity to call on other NGOs to emulate WACC in this crusade.

For his part, the Alkalo of Kerewan Samba Sira pointed out that COVID-19 is real and therefore advised his villagers and Gambians at large to abide by the standard and approved guidelines.
