Banjul, 24th February 2025: His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, Vice President of The Gambia, over the weekend presided over the prestigious Gambia Teacher Prize 2025 held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre in Bijilo.
Organised by the Namie Foundation in partnership with MoBSE and MoHERST, the event celebrated the unwavering dedication of teachers and their vital role in driving the country’s socioeconomic development. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of prestigious awards to both regional and national winners for their outstanding contributions to education.
The ceremony was graced by honourable ministers, dignitaries, teachers, stakeholders, and proud parents, all gathered to celebrate the champions of education.
In his keynote address, VP Jallow praised the invaluable contributions of teachers, stating:
“Tonight, we celebrate the lifeblood of our nation’s progress — our teachers, who go above and beyond to shape minds, build character, and nurture the future of The Gambia.”
He further reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the education sector by enhancing teacher training, investing in school infrastructure, and ensuring that educators receive the recognition and support they truly deserve.
