Mr. Ebrima Jallow, Administrator at the Trans-Africa Tele Clinics in Fajara, Kanifing Municipality said that the clinic is registered to complement government’s efforts in making health care accessible to all Gambians.
Trans-Africa Tele Clinics (TATC) will provide affordable diagnostic services to The Gambian people. Through tele-medicine, TATC provides live video and telephone consultations for patients who do not necessary need to travel to the clinic to meet specialists.
“Health organizations are providing virtual appointments and are expanding their tele-health clinic options, particularly in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.” Mr Jallow elaborated.
He assured that TATC will be manned by well trained medical personnel that will be monitoring the progress of the clinic in order to mitigate the high risk of cardiovascular diseases.
“Over the time, the scope of services will be broadened to include all gaps through transfer of knowledge, which will in turn build a robust health care system in The Gambia,’’ he noted.
Telemedicine is the use of telecommunication technology to provide clinical health fidelity as well as the transmission of medical data and diagnosis imaging from one site to another.
Jallow disclosed that TATC has a database of physicians to provide scheduled tele-consultations and monthly conditions. In-person patient meetings and telemedicine encounters is the mission of an actual physical participating physicians.

The clinic will start operations soon and the initial provision of services will be graced b Her Excellency the First Lady, Fatoumatta Bah Barrow and other dignitaries.
