It all started with “WHO IS ST” in 2007 when there was no audience for local music talk-less of making money in our music scene. He strive to make sure to make our music recognize by our own people. He dropped “HAFTAN” in 2012 which was a popular song in this country. The same year he dropped another big song “DARA DU DOI” before dropping his first studio debut album in 2013 entitled ‘DISTINCTION'.

Sanna Singhateh aka ST or better still Brikama Boyo spoke highly of his new SOSOLASO album, which was launched on February 5th 2022 at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.

In his pre-event press conference ST revealed that the Sosolaso album consists of 9 songs; that all the tracks are different in genre and that the message and vibes in this album are different “because there are lots of expressions on the Gambian way of life, and a lot more typical Gambian stories”.

The album, he said, is a Gambian thing as the name depicts; that it talks about Gambia and its people’s way of life.

He was optimistic that the Sosolaso album launch was going to be unmatched. On why the name Sosolaso, the Gambian sensational artiste explained that the name derived from a game played by kids, which requires or demands everyone’s involvement. Sosolaso is filled with a diverse collection of songs; a 9-track masterpiece that every Gambian can relate to no matter what. It reminds fans of the country’s vast cultures and traditional norms, as it takes listeners through a musical enlightenment, career growth and pure cultural vibes.

ST himself said his music is all about connecting with people and responding to their reactions and entertainment needs.

In his presser, the Afro Manding Rap sensation said he is far from getting to where he desires to be. “People feel we are there but we are not. It’s a gradual process. We learn everyday to make it better and satisfy our fans more and work up to their expectations”.

Aside a sparkling musical career, the Brikama-born musician is also into philanthropy. He has a foundation called ST Foundation, which provides development initiatives including sponsorship packages for students, COVID19 relief support, community library support program and assistance for needy patients, among others.

“My foundation is not political and is need-specific. We intervene to help address the most pressing challenges local communities and young people struggle with often.” Finally, ST disclosed that he sponsored by himself, with a helping hand from Global Properties, for which he is Brand Ambassador.
