Background
LOCAL CONSULTANCY
FUNDED BY: WORLD DIABETES FOUNDATION
INTRODUCTION:
The Non-Communicable Disease Unit of the Ministry of Health in Partnership with African Network for Information and Action Against Drug (RAID-The Gambia) Received Funding from World Diabetes Foundation for Diabetes and Hypertension Education, Prevention and Management within Western Health Region 1 and 2.
The duration of the project is 3 years from (May 2017 to May 2020) and part of the proceeds of the grant is to establish and support six health facilities to operate diabetes and hypertension clinics in the greater Banjul Area and West Coast Region. It also has some training for the health care providers and some community outreach programmes; such as open community dialogue, Commemoration of World Diabetes Day, training of organized women groups, traditional healers and drama groups etc.
As part of the grant agreement, there shall be an End of Project Review of the project at the end of its implementation. The objective of the review is to evaluate the implementation against the planned activities for possible suggestions and recommendations.
The Consultant will look at all the relevant documents of the project such as project proposal and Budget, grant agreement, partnership agreement, policies and procedures etc. and be able to independently judge and make recommendations in the final report.
SCOPE OF WORK:
Review of the implementation of WDF 16-1368 Gambia Project and Produce a Final Report on the overall project activities and programs.
SPECIFIC WORK OUTPUT:
• The consultant will produce final project report at the end of the exercise.
KEY REQUIREMENT OF INTERESTED APPLICANT
• Must be an Individual consultant.
• Applicant must have knowledge and experience on similar work.
• A National Identity Card
• Tin Certificate
• Master Degree in, Public Health, Health Promotion or related field.
• Keen interest in Non-Communicable Diseases Prevention and Education
• Willing to travel extensively in the Gambia to visit project sites.

DURATION
The entire duration of consultancy should not be more than three weeks effective the signing date of the contract.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Payment Terms shall be in two tranches of 50% after signing of the contract and the other balance of 50% after submission and approval of the Final report.
Willing to allowed independent reference check by the Implementing Agency
The technical and financial proposals should entail the following key areas Objectives, Output, Methodology to use, implementation schedule, resources required and their estimated cost, propose content table of the report and other relevant information.
