Regional Maritime University Summit Wraps Up In Banjul

The Regional Maritime University (RUM), 30th Board of Governors summit recently ended at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara Conference Centre in Bijilo

   The Regional Maritime University consists of five-member countries; namely: The Gambia, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, and Liberia.

Currently, the Gambian Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Honorable Mr. Ebrima Sillah is the Chairman and Chancellor of the Regional Maritime University which is located in Accra, Ghana.

During the course of the deliberations, participants put across key important recommendations such as proper management of the funds of the University, continuous and timely financial support by member states to the University, and providing the University with vehicles, especially by member states who are yet to do so.

In his closing remarks, Minister Ebrima Sillah commended the participants for a job well done. He further assured them of his support during his tenure.

 Finally, Minister Sillah called for teamwork among member states in order to achieve their dreams.

Certificates and gifts were presented to some individuals for their distinguished service to the Maritime University.

The event ended with a dinner for the delegates at the prestigious African Princess Hotel in Kololi
