President Barrow swears-in new appointees

His Excellency President Adama Barrow on Thursday, 4th June presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Secretary General and Head of Civil Service, Nuha Touray; Deputy Secretary General and Head of Civil Service, Salimata E.T. Touray; and Liu Mosses Mendy, Permanent Secretary.

Nuha Touray was Secretary to Cabinet during former president, Yahya Jammeh’s government.

The President noted the importance of having committed, dedicated and honest Gambians in the civil service machinery for high performance and effective service delivery.

He thanked the former Secretary General for devoting his time to work for his country up to his retirement, while urging the new appointees to serve without fear or favour.

Secretary General Touray gratitude to President Barrow for the trust and confidence he bestowed on him.

He specially expressed appreciation to the President for allowing people to do their work without much interference; as opposed to what obtained in the previous government. Therefore, Mr Touray on behalf of his colleagues promised that they will carry out their duties as expected.

The swearing ceremony was attended by the Vice President, and cabinet ministers.

After the swearing-in ceremony, the President let his executive into their regular cabinet meeting.
