Hon Ummy Mwalimu (MP) and Minister for Health of the United Republic of Tanzania and her delegation landed in The Gambia on Friday July 12, 2024 as the Special Envoy of Her Excellency Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.
Hon Mwalimu was received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Dr Mamadou Tangara. The two discussed pertinent bilateral matters between the two countries and proceeded to meet His Excellency President Adama Barrow for the envoy to deliver the message from Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Hon Mwalimu was welcomed by Minister Tangara who acknowledged the long standing bilateral relationship between the two countries especially in the trade sector and the importance of maintaining those ties.
For her part, Hon Mwalimu thanked the Honorable Minister for welcoming her and her team and expressed that the United Republic of Tanzania looks forward to continual cooperations with The Gambia.
