His Excellency Adama Barrow President of the Republic of the Gambia and commander in chief of the Gambia armed forces on Friday 29th November presided over the swearing in ceremony of the newly appointed Ministers and Senior officials The ceremony witnessed the swearing-in of the following ministers, Chief of staff and Minister of the Presidency Modou K. Ceesay, Minister of Basic and Secondary Education Dr. Habibatou Drammeh, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy Mr Lamin Jabbi and Secretary to Cabinet and Head of the Civil Service Mr Alieu Njie, All the appointed Ministers and members of the public service commission took the prescribed oaths of office, Allegiance and Secrecy, which they swore to implement without fear, favor, affection or ill-will, according to the Constitution and other laws of The Gambia.
Speaking on behalf of the sworn ministers, Dr. Habibatou Drammeh Minister of Basic and secondary education took a moment to expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Adama Barrow for the courageous decision to appoint them in these significant positions. “Today marks a significant moment not just for us the newly sworn ministers but for everyone who have trust on us as this positions requires collaborative efforts to serve the people to fulfill President Barrow’s agenda with unwavering dedication, understanding that our role comes with huge expectations.” She noted. She further stated they recognized the challenges that lies ahead, adding that together they will confront them with courage, collaboration and transparency as they embark on this journey. “Together, we invite you to work with us as we strive to fulfill our commitments, thank you for your fate in us, we will not take this responsibility lightly, we will strive every day to be worthy of your trust.” Drammeh emphasized The ceremony of the newly appointed ministers was attended by The Vice President of the Republic His Excellency Mohammed B.S Jallow, family members and friends.
