The President His Excellency Adama Barrow has recently embarked on city-wide inspection of the ongoing rehabilitation and modernization of Banjul project.
The President was accompanied in this tour by minister of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure and other cabinet and senior governments officials. He was led on by the Mayor of Banjul, Rohey Malick Lowe with a large crowd of Banjulians.
The President the concept of the project was motivated by his tour of the city in 2018. “I realized that Banjul was seriously and completely dilapidated,” he added. He expressed good impressions about the ongoing work, saying the project will make great impact on the lives of Banjulians.
He went on: “Banjul is the capital of The Gambia; for that we cannot afford to ignore it,” adding that similar project will be replicated in Serekunda, Brikama and others. The President and entourage also visited St. Joseph Senior Secondary School.
