His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, has learned with sadness the loss of lives and properties to many families and individuals following the destruction caused by heavy rain and windstorm in different parts of the country. The damages occurred on Wednesday night, 7th July 2021, and has disrupted electricity, water, and other services.
President Barrow extends his deepest condolences and sympathy to the families that lost their loved ones, and all those affected throughout the country.
As a result, The President summoned an emergency meeting with all relevant stakeholders, to conduct a rapid assessment of the damages to advise the Government accordingly.
Meanwhile, President Barrow is calling on all Gambians to come forward and support the victims in any way they can while his Government assesses the needed support.
