Banjul, 06th March 2025: A group of Nigerian investors has visited The Gambia to explore possible investment opportunities in real estate, tourism, agriculture, and asset management, among other areas of interest.
The group made its intentions known to the Gambian minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, when it paid a courtesy call on him at his office in Banjul on Monday, March 3rd. They were led by Rohey Malick Lowe, lord mayor of Banjul.
Speaking during the meeting, Greg Akhibi of EEG Group, thanked the Honourable Minister for receiving them in his office. He revealed that they chose The Gambia because of its peace and friendly people.
He said they want the partnership and collaboration to yield positive results for the peoples of The Gambia and Nigeria.
For his part, Honourable Abdoulie Jobe, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, on behalf of the government of The Gambia, welcomed the group to the Smiling Coast of West Africa, and reassured them of the government’s commitment to bringing investment opportunities to the country. He described the relationship between The Gambia and Nigeria as cordial, dating back so many years.
“The Gambia and Nigeria have a long fraternal relationship in the fields of medical, judiciary, and military among others. We would guide you through whatever process you want to do to achieve it,” the minister reaffirmed.
The group is expected to meet with key stakeholders in the real estate business, tourism, and agriculture before they wrap up their mission in The Gambia.
