Kunkujang Native Set to Give 10,000 Face Masks to Elderly

Amadou Tijan Bah, a native of Kunkujang Keita who is also serving as auditor of the Village Development Committee of the village on Wednesday, July 22nd launched a Covid-19 intervention drive that will see to the distribution of about ten thousand face masks for the elderly people. This he affirmed is to ensure a Covid-free society and to promote health and environmental friendliness.

Mr Bah revealed that he is collaborating with Red Cross Society in which they are involving tailors in Kunkujang Keitaya. He added that they will also embark on raising awareness in the communities on the preventive measures against COVID-19.

"The project is not only about distribution of face masks but also hand sanitisers and food relief to the community in general,” he added. Mr Bah advised people to always follow the Covid-19 guidelines.

Ida Jallow, member of the community, and Gumbo Secka, tailor who is participating in the project both acknowledged the relevance of the project.

The alkalo of Kunkujang Bubakarr Conteh, commended Mr Bah for coming up with this idea, describing him as patriotic.

He underscored the importance of facemasks especially for the fact that there is an uptick of Covid-19 cases in the Gambia.
