On behalf of His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of the Gambia, His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow, the Vice President on Thursday, 11th January2024 presented a cash amount of D625, 000 to Bakary Badjie, Minister of Youth and Sports. The presentation ceremony was held at State House in Banjul.
The cash donation is seen as the government’s contribution to the national team’s participation in the Africa Cup of Nations underway in Ivory Coast.
The handing-over ceremony was also witnessed by cabinet ministers. The Gambia’s first match is today, Monday 15th January 2024 against Senegal.
