The President of The Republic, His Excellency Adama Barrow on Saturday, July 6th travelled to the Federal Rupublic of Nigeria to participate in the 65th Ordinary Summit of the ECOWAS Head of States and Government.
This year's summit took place against challenging environment for the regional bloc. Recent developments in the region have included coups, insecurity and economic instability, and climate change are some thought-provoking regional menaces that need comprehensive.
The Heads of State and Government Summit was preceded by the community's 52nd session of the Mediation and Security Council ministerial meeting, which The Gambia minister of foreign affairs attended. The meeting aimed to assess the sub-region's political, peace, and security situation
