New World Bank Group Rep Shows Interest in Gambia’s Tourism Development

The new World Bank Group Resident Representative in The Gambia, Mr. Franklin Mutahakana, recently paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Honorable Abdoulie Jobe at his office in Banjul.
During his discussion with the Honorable Minister, Mr. Mutahakana renewed the Bank’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships and collaboration with all stakeholders to advance shared goals of sustainable economic development and growth.
For his part, the Honourable Minister thanked the World Bank for the support they are providing to the tourism sector through the Tourism Diversification and Resilience Project for Gambia, which is to support the diversification and climate resilience of the sector at selected destinations.
He finally thanked the new World Bank resident representative for the visit and reassured him of his support and collaboration, especially in the tourism sector.
