NCC Explains Gambia’s AFCON Budget - Ahead of Continent’s Biggest Football Fest

The Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs and chairperson of the Finance sub-committee of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) of AFCON 2023 disclosed that 65% AFCON budget will go to the national team including bonuses and allowances, whilst 35% of the budget goes to media, publicity and logistics activities.

Mrs. Juldeh Ceesay recently made the disclosure at the 7th National Coordinating Committee meeting while presenting her report to the committee members in the ‘Road to AFCON 2023’ meeting held at the Independence
Stadium in Bakau.

The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Bakary Y. Badjie; and co-chaired by Mr. Lamin Kabba Bajo, the President of the Gambia Football Federation (GFF). The meeting received updates from sub-committees including logistics, media and publicity amongst others.

The Committee was also briefed on the Trust Bank corporate social responsibility contribution toward the AFCON 2023 to the tune of two million five hundred thousand Dalasis.
