NACCUG National Officers Meet Finance Minister

 A delegation from the National Association of Cooperative Credit Unions of The Gambia (NACCUG) last week made a courtesy call on the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs (MoFEA), Seedy Keita at his office in Banjul.

The delegation was led to Minister Keita’s office by the National Association of Cooperative Credit Unions of The Gambia (NACCUG) Board Chairperson, Ms. Bintou Njie-Sey. 

During the meeting, the General Manager (GM) of NACCUG, Mr. Foday Sanyang hailed Hon. Minister Keita for his appointment as Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs (MoFEA) and updated him on the activities of their union in the country. He also highlighted the challenges they are facing and appealed to Minister Seedy Keita for his office’s intervention.

In response, Hon. Seedy Keita thanked the NACCUG delegation for the visit and assured them of his ministry’s support and commitment. “Let me commend the leadership of NACCUG for the good work you  are doing in complementing the government’s efforts towards attaining financial inclusion at the grassroots level. I can give support to your institution within the confines of the law,” Minister Keita assured NACCUG board members.

The other members of the NACCUG delegation included Mr. Nuha Sanneh, Central Finance Manager; Mr. Yankuba Touray, Operations Manager; Ms Florence Mendy, Human Resource and Training Manager; Mr. Pa Singhateh, General Manager Police Credit Union; Mr. Kebba Touray, Vice-Chairman NACCUG Board; Mr. Sarjo Ceesay, Gamtel/Gamcell Credit Union General Manager;  Mr. Palese Mendy, NACCUG Board Treasurer and Mrs. Fana Mbaye.
