The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education on Wednesday, 6 April 2022, launched a video conferencing devise meant to enhance nationwide education communication.
Held at at the Ministry’s conference hall in Banjul, the event, which was presided over by PS Louis Moses Mendy, drew participants from various regional education directorates via virtual inter-face.
This digitally-driven initiative, according to MOBSE’s Permanent Secretary, is launched with a view to strengthening educational communication channels to maximise time and cost across all regional education directorates. The video conference platform is meant to facilitate easy access among all directorates to share best practices and discuss contemporary educational issues.
Speaking at the event, PS Mendy hailed and encouraged REDs to be committed to task, describing them as the operational arm of the Ministry. He further implored participants to make best use of the digital platform in addressing issues affecting regional education management.
“Understanding the important role that digital technology plays in education, MOBSE is working on providing internet connectivity across the designated regional offices to maximise output,” he elucidated.
All regional education directors that participated on the conference commended MOBSE’s senior management for the laudable initiative geared towards facilitating consultations among them, citing communication as a key instrument in quality service delivery.
