The Ministry of Lands, Regional Government and Religious Affairs has announced in a press release the completion of the draft National Land Policy, and the circulation of the document among stakeholders for review and feedback.
“We invite the public to access the draft policy on our official website through the following link: https://molrg.gov.gm/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/National-Land-Policy.pdf. Your inputs and opinions are invaluable to us, and we encourage all stakeholders and members of the public to share their views,” the release stated.
While inviting comments from the public, the Ministry revealed that the regional validation activities will commence in April, followed by a national validation process scheduled for May 2025.
This policy is envisioned as a critical tool in addressing land conflicts, modernising existing land laws, and effectively resolving land-related issues in The Gambia.
