The Global Media Congress (GMC) is a crucial gathering for news media enthusiasts to discuss strategies and the future of news media. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, the 2nd Global Media Congress (GMC) will be held 14-16 November 2023 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi.
Organized by ADNEC Group in partnership with the Emirates News Agency (WAM), GMC 2023 will examine the latest developments in the media sector and its prospects, building on the resounding success of the GMC’s inaugural edition. Returning for its second year, the world-class three-day event will see the participation of a roster of the world’s top industry leaders, specialists and influencers, in addition to academics, youth and university students.
GMC produces strategic outputs that greatly contribute to shaping the future of the media sector. With more than 200 CEOs and 1,200 media pioneers, specialists and global influencers representing continents, with 30 panel discussions and in excess of 40 workshops, in which more than 161 international speakers participating,193 exhibiting brands 6 features and 121sessions will gather and discuss the latest tech solutions in the media sector.
The GMC 2023 will discuss several key themes, focusing on issues related to environmental conservation, climate change and sustainability, innovation, artificial intelligence, and utilizing sports in media to promote positive values. Speaking to MrAbubacarrSankanu, Deputy Government Spokesperson a participant of GMC 2022 said that it was an honor to attend the media Congress, as the agency was very generous to signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gambia News Agency(GAMNA) to build cooperationas well as build the capacities of the staff of the agency.
“Gambia is a developing country we have to build a lot of skills to ensure that we participate in the global dialogue for media advancement”. He noted

He added that the GMC is a unique platform for media enthusiasts from all over the globe and other relevant stakeholders for national, regional and international media outlets to produce forecasts for the global media sector and its pivotal role in accelerating sustainable development worldwide.

“The knowledge gain attending the global media congress has impacted my life and also improve my work skills. It has helped me to be more factual in writing to avoid mis-information and dis-information as we are in an era of social media” He irritated.
Furthermore, he said that he was not restricted to only attend one workshop but was given a dual entrance card which means I can access all the roomswith activities. He added that attending the global media congress has brought advantage and improvement for the staff of the agency as well as foster relation with other news agencies that attended the event.
