Gambia Participates in 19th Confederation of Indian Industry

The Vice President His Excellency Mohammed B.S Jallow has led a delegation of Gambia government officials to the Indian capital of New Delhi to participate in the 19th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).                                                                    

 The 19th edition of the Conclave aims to serve as an instrument for Africa’s growth and the role of India-Africa partnership in regional and global value chains integration. Besides bilateral, trilateral, and regional discussions, the Conclave will focus on some of the key areas of partnership and emerging opportunities in Agric food processing, defense, digital partnership, financial partnership, healthcare pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, power and energy, quality ecosystem, skill capacity development amongst others.

The Conclave holds elements such as business conferences, exhibitions, B2B meetings, and the introduction of product launching during the event to reflect upon the (AAA) approach of Indian business towards Africa – Affordable, Adaptable, and Appropriate.

The Vice president is accompanied by the Minister of Tourism, Hon Abdoulie Jobe, Minster of Fisheries and water Resources Hon Musa M Drammeh , Minster for Transport, works and infrastructure Hon Ebrima Sillah and Minister of  Petroleum and Energy Hon. Nani Juwara and senior government officials

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in partnership with Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India initiated the Africa Conclave on India-Africa Partnership in 2005. Since inception, the Conclave has emerged as one of the largest congregations of senior ministers, policy makers and business leaders from Africa and India, cutting across sectors. Over the years, the Conclave has witnessed participation of over 10000 African and over 8500 Indian delegates. The Conclave has also hosted over 500 senior Ministers, including heads of states from Africa.
