Lamin Sanneh, the Chief Driver of the Gambia Daily Newspaper at the Department of Information Services passed away on the night of Wednesday 4th October following a short illness.
Family members said he had a brief heart attack shortly after he returned from observing the Ishaa prayers in the Mosque. He was rushed to the hospital and was later pronounced dead.
News of his death shocked everyone at the Department of Information Services.
The Director of the Department of Information Services Aisha Davies said: “I have known Sanneh for the past 15 years and during this period he had been willing and committed to his work. He significantly impacted his colleagues during his time as a driver and was loved by everyone who knew him. He left suddenly and we will never forget him”. She paid tribute to him for his loyalty and hardwork while praying for Allah to grant him the highest place in Jannatul Firdawsi.
The Imam of Nema, where the late Chief Driver Lamin Sanneh lived, testified that the he was a pious Muslim who had always been praying in the Mosque and most of the time he would spend time between Maghrib and Isha’a in the mosque.
. The elders prayed for his eternal blessings and for Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdausi.
