In an exclusive interview with Gambia Daily Sports, Saihou Saidy, a Gambian football agent based in Belgium has said that he is looking for new talents from The Gambia because he believes “Gambia has a lot of young, super talented players”. “They only need to make the next step,” he explained.
Saidy is the agent for the following Gambian players: Alieu Fadera, who plays for Genk in Belgium; James gomez for Odense in Denmark; Alagie Saine for FC Horsens in Denmark; Yaya Bojang for Odense in Denmark; Abdoulie Manneh for Mjallbyaifs in Sweden; Haruna Rasid Njie for RFS in Latvia; Karamba Gassama for Dynamo Tyrana in Albania; Muhammed Jallow; Alieu Manneh; Modou Saidy; and Abdoulie Tamba
Narrating his football agency journey, Saidy said he has been a big football lover since childhood. “It has always been my dream to play football, but because of injury, I could not make it to the highest level. Football has always been part of my life. I started as a scout with a good friend of mine in JC player management, from 2012 to 2018.From there, I stood independently, but it was never easy. Alhamdulillah for everything, we are still growing step by step,” he remarked.
Saihou revealed that he is trying to set up partnership between some clubs in The Gambia and clubs in Europe, as well as take some young players to Europe to become professionals.
The agent finally advised kids who aspire to become professional footballers to be discipline, hard working and be dedicated. He advised that they sleep on time.
He parted with the following words: “If you want to make it to the top, you need to be the best of the best”.
