Expressing gratitude for the audience, Mr. Nfamara Jawneh, the Executive Director of Beakanyang Organisation, said the purpose of their visit was to introduce Beakanyang, inform the Vice President of their upcoming programmes and to seek Government’s support.

“It has always been a tradition every end of the year to come and discuss issues of human rights and brief the office about our work, challenges, and seek the support of the government,” he elucidated.

Delving into their plan of action, Mr Jawneh further stated, “We also talked about a programme we want to roll out in URR called ‘Lahido’. This initiative aims to address issues of gender-based violence.”

He said the organisation expresses its aspirations for collaboration and support from the government to enhance their impactful initiatives.

In response, VP Jallow emphasised Government’s commitment to protecting its citizens and maintaining law and order.
