GRCS Unveils New Malaria and Climate Initiatives to VP Jallow

The Vice President of The Gambia, His Excellency Mohammed B.S. Jallow, on Friday, August 2nd, 2024, welcomed executive members from The Gambia Red Cross Society (GRCS) to his office at State House.
Aboulie Faye, Acting Secretary General of GRCS said the purpose of their visit was to update the Vice President on their current initiatives, including a malaria project funded by the Chinese government through the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The delegation also discussed their proactive disaster response strategies.
Additionally, they briefed the VP on their locally led adaptation project, a climate-smart initiative funded by USAID through IFRC. This project, to be implemented by GRCS in The Gambia over a two-year period, will be launched on Friday, August 9, 2024, and they extended an invitation to the Vice President to attend.
VP Jallow expressed satisfaction and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting these initiatives.
