In press release issued on Friday, May 13th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment (MOTIE) announced that it is working on establishing a sustainable marketing framework for local onions.
“To support this process, the Ministry is requesting all businesses that are interested to continue importing onions to register their business with the Ministry,” it stated.
The Ministry further informed that the registration period is from 12th May 2022 to 20th May 2022. It warned that businesses and individuals that fail to register will not be allowed to import onions.
