Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha of the Republic of Chad who is the Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), on Friday, June 17th paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Adama Barrow.
Speaking to the press after meeting the Gambian leader, Secretary General Taha expressed delight at the warm reception Gambians accorded him and his delegation since their arrival.
He said he assured President Barrow of the Member States’s support to Gambia’s preparation for the hosting the OIC in the country.
Among other things discussed, the SG revealed, was the issue of the Rohingya Muslims in Myanmar.
Mr Hissein Brahim Taha and his delegation were accompanied to State House by Momodou Tangara, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad; Yankuba Dibba, head of OIC Secretariat in The Gambia and his staff.
In a separate development on the same day at State House, the Khalph General of Kaolack in Senegal and his entourage also called on President Barrow.
