The Gambia for Five Years and Peace Building has recently presented sanitary materials to the COVID-19 task-force committee of the Upper River Region. The materials, which include hand washing buckets, are meant to support the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to this medium, the Secretary General of the group, Ebrima Sorry Bah, described the viral disease as a global challenge which requires collective and collaborative efforts. He affirmed that the materials are meant to enhance the region’s task force.
Mr Bah informed that the group is also partnering with the Ministry of Health in raising the awareness of the public on COVID-19.
The SG used the opportunity to call on the public to adhere to the guidelines set out by World Health Organisation and the Ministry of Health on preventing the spread of the virus.
The Governor of Upper River Region Fanta Bojang Samateh-Manneh, hailed The Gambia for 5 Years and Peace Building for joining the fight against the highly contagious COVID-19 in the region and the country as a whole. She assured that the materials will be of great help to her region’s Coronavirus fight.
