The Honourable Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Nani Juwara, has led a team of senior officials of his Ministry, consisting of the Permanent Secretary, Mr Lamin Camara; and the Director of Energy, Kemo K Ceesay, on a tour of the TBEA headquarters in Xinjiang, People’s Republic of China. This followed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of The Gambia and TBEA International Engineering Ltd, at the recently concluded 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Summit.

TBEA invited Hon. Juwara for an official tour of the state-of-the-art facilities and headquarters in China. The goal of universal energy access 2025 is at the forefront of the Minister’s mind, and all efforts are being made to deliver on this promise for The Gambian people. The universal energy access goal aims to provide sustainable and renewable sources of energy, and the Ministry is working hard to enhance solar-powered energy supply. TBEA has shown its ability to provide facilities that cater to that need.

TBEA has completed the 23MW with 8MWh battery power Solar PV Plant at Jambur and other electricity infrastructure projects in The Gambia, demonstrating high quality, efficient performance and outstanding technical output of the project, which satisfied the Gambian Government. This visit is meant for TBEA to show the Gambian delegation what facilities they have, as well as to discuss ongoing projects and future projects that will benefit the citizenry. While the goal for universal energy by 2025 is an ambitious one, the Ministry is confident that with the projects it has already established and the ones that are in progress, this goal will truly come to fruition.
