Media is the most powerful sector of an economy. It is a tool to maintain a balanced society characterized by well-informed people, effective democracy and social justice. It has unparalleled influence on all aspects of human life in modern times. However, to ensure its sustainable growth and to harness its huge potential, there needs to be global media partnership and a refocus on the media as a powerful tool to spur development cooperative and economic growth.

 

Generally, global partnerships are vital for sustainable development as they connect people worldwide. In addition, global partnerships allow people to share information, technology, and resources which allow for more significant connections of knowledge and ideas, promote open dialogue among different stakeholders on an equal footing thereby promoting development.

 

One vital initiative that recognizes such potentials of the media and aims to achieving the aforementioned value of the media is the Global Media Congress (GMC) hosted by the United Arab Emirates. The next edition of the GMC will be held between 14th and 16th  November 2023 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

 

 The GMC features a specialised conference with dedicated sessions related to the media industry. These sessions focus on key topics led by high-level experts in the industry from across the globe. Topics at the conference relate to digital communication, artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and innovation in the media sector.

 

 This specialized conference is a great opportunity for media professionals to learn about the latest trends and challenges facing the industry. It serves as a platform for guests to determine and debate the way ahead for media. More than 200 chief executives and 1,200 participants will attend 30 sessions, with 40 speakers focusing on different thematic areas.

 

It is organised by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with Emirates News Agency (WAM) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, and Chairman of the Presidential Court.
