Crab Island TVET Centre Receives Donation of Office Equipment

Crab Island Technical and Vocational Education Training Centre (CITVETC recently received a donation of office equipment and furniture from Mr. Baboucar Njie and brother  Cherno Njie, who are  based in the United States. The donated items include a coloured printer, two desktop computers, a projector and screen, half a dozen office chairs, two filing cabinets, conference table and other office accessories.

On receiving the donated items on behalf of the Centre, Hon. Ousman Sillah, National Assembly member for Banjul North described the donation as timely, and noted that the items will help enhance administrative activities.

The Chairperson of Crab Island TVET Foundation assured that the donated items will be put to good use.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In handing over the items, Mr. Baboucar Njie expressed delight in handing over the         equipment, adding that the items will help in the advancement of the work of the Centre

 

“This is a very small token.  But we will  see how best we can add more support  for the development of the country particularly in the area of technical education,” Mr Njie noted.

He said the country cannot develop in the absence of technical capacity and supporting this training centre will go a long way in helping to build and enhance the capacities of the youth  in technical education.

Mr Njie concluded by assuring the TVET foundation  of their continued support  This is  the first time and will certainly not be the last time to support the Crab Island TVET Centre.

In delivering the vote of Thanks, Mr. Matarr John, Director of the TVET Centre, also applauded the Njie brothers for their timely support towards the efforts in building capacities of young people in this country.

He acknowledged the numerous networking efforts that the Chairperson of the Board continues to build with a multitude of partners, one of which resulted to the presentation of these materials.

He urged others, including Gambians both home and abroad, to emulate this good and timely gesture to support efforts towards nation-building.
