The Pharmaceutical Society of The Gambia has also joined organisational and individual philanthropists to help government fight against the spread of Coronavrus in the country, by handing over a consignment of sanitary materials to the Ministry of Health (MOH). This was done in a mini ceremony held at the Ministry of Health complex in Banjul.
Speaking on the occasion on behalf of her team, Makieu Kaira Janneh, Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Society of the Gambia, informed the Ministry that the donated items were meant for the front liners in the fight against COVID-19.
She disclosed that the hand sanitisers are locally produced by their own Gambian pharmacies.
She assured of the organisation’s commitment to contribute its quota in the crusade against COVID-19
Receiving the donation, Dr Ahamadou Lamin Samateh, Minister of Health, thanked the Pharmaceutical Society of The Gambia for their innovation in producing locally made hand sanitisers. “Good work always speaks for itself, and that is what exactly the Society has done”.
The minister used the opportunity to commend the Pharmaceutical Society of The Gambia for the good regulations they have put in place to regulate the operations of pharmacies in the country.
