1st Term Tough due to Lack of Majority in Assembly - President Barrow

His Excellency President Adama has been criss-crossing the length and breadth of the country thanking the electorate for his massive victory at the polls in the December 2021 presidential election and canvassing votes for his NPP candidates of the April 9 National Assembly election. He lamented the fact that he had found it tough in the past five years because of lack of majority support to his development agenda.

The President has so far held meetings in all the constituencies in North Bank Region, Upper River Region and some constituencies in Central River Region.

He assured the people of Dingiri and farmers whose groundnuts were not purchased that he is going to make an order for all those groundnuts to be bought within weeks.

Mawdo Susso, a farmer, appealed to the President and the government to bring the Chinese farmers back to the country to help them with rice cultivation.

He decried the increase in cattle rustling in the area and appealed to the government to help them with security.

In his meeting in Keneba Village in Kantora constituency, President Barrow called on the people of Kantora to vote for the NPP candidate Honorable Bilai Tunkara who is seeking for re-election, describing him as supporter of his development agenda.

The Presidential tour entourage also held a meeting in Sare Bojo Village. There Barrow said he wants to leave a legacy after his presidency and called on Mama Kandeh, leader of the GDC party to join his government and develop Jimara.

Honorable Essa Conteh, NPP candidate for Jimara who was also the Deputy Governor of URR said politics of attacking President Adama Barrow and people of Jimara is over.

In Allunhareh Village, Basse constituency, President Barrow promised to provide garden for the women of the village.

President Adama Barrow also held a meeting in Kass Wollof in Niani constituency. Honorable Anti Rohey Ceesay, the NPP candidate for Niani constituency also presided over a meeting in Konteh Village in Nianija constituency in CRR.

 Hamat NK Bah, Minister of Tourism and Culture called on the business community to be careful of how they fix prices of the commodities. He warned them against increasing prices of commodities every time.
