VP Leads Gambian Delegation to Global Glacier Preservation Confab in Tajikistan

His Excellency Mohammed BS Jallow, Vice President of The Gambia, is currently in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where he is leading a high-level delegation at the International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, to be held from May 29th to 31st.

This important global gathering brings together world leaders and policymakers to explore sustainable solutions for climate adaptation and resilience, with a special focus on addressing the rapid melting of glaciers.

Accompanying the Vice President are:

 Hon. Rohey John Manjang, Minister of Environment, Climate Change and Natural Resources; Mr. Abdoulie TB Jarra, Permanent Secretary, Office of the Vice President; and Mr. Njagga Touray, Deputy Executive Director, National Environment Agency.

The Gambian delegation was warmly received by Tajik officials including Mr. Azim Ebrahim, Minister of Transport; Mr. Saidzoda Rahim Hamro, Minister of Science and Education;

Mr. Sharifzoda Farrukh Homiddin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Gambia remains deeply committed to global efforts in environmental preservation and climate resilience.
