Turkish Ambassador Hosts Breakfast Session for Dignitaries in Gambia

Mr. Türker Oba, the Turkish Ambassador to The Gambia, on June 1st hosted an event at his residence in Brufut to commemorate World Breakfast Day. The event, which took place from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, showcased a variety of Turkish breakfast dishes.

The event was attended by a diverse group, including the Ambassadors of Cuba, France, Morocco, Sierra Leone, and Senegal, as well as the UNDP country representative, friends of the ambassador, and some artists.

Ambassador Oba emphasised the purpose and significance of the event, explaining that it was a social gathering to share Turkish culture with Gambian friends and fellow ambassadors. He stated that the event aimed to foster unity, quality time, and stronger relationships. “Breakfast is an intimate moment,” he remarked. As a Turkish citizen, he highlighted the importance of breakfast as the most important meal of the day.

Mr Dennis Elveril, the founder of AIC Green Energy, shared his delight and commitment to strengthening ties between Gambia and Turkey. Highlighting projects in progress betweena The Gambia and Turkey in the promotion of energy.

To celebrate the day, Gambian culture was incorporated through displays of the Balafon and Kora. Ambassador Oba explained that this was to showcase Gambian culture and expressed his intention to incorporate Gambian foods into future celebrations. He welcomed his counterparts to join them in celebrating World Breakfast Day every June 1st.
