The Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure, Honourable Ebrima Sillah, led a delegation comprising of the Gambia Ports Authority (GPA) Board Chairman, Managing Director, and General Manager of Gambia Ferries Services (GFS) to Damen Company in the Netherlands. The objective of the visit is to get a firsthand information on the ongoing construction of the green ferry.
During his visit to the site at Damen, Group, Netherlands, the Minister disclosed that the new ferry, being constructed by Damen Group of Companies is nearing completion, with over 70% of the work already accomplished.
Minister Sillah expressed satisfaction with the project’s progress, highlighting Damen’s professionalism and efficiency in delivering results ahead of schedule. He commended the company’s commitment to excellence, noting that their progressive approach has significantly contributed to the timely advancement of the ferry’s construction.
General Manager of The Gambia Ferry Services, Abdoulie Tambedou; Managing Director of The Gambia Ports Authority, Ousman Jobarteh; and the Board Chairman of The Gambia Ports Authority, Kebba Tamsir Njie, all expressed joy over the speed of works by Damen Goup of Companies of The Netherlands, on the verge of delivering the country’s first green ferry by the end of the year.
