The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, on Sunday, May 3, 2026, embarked on a four-day familiarization tour of tourism facilities across The Gambia.
He is accompanied by the Chairman of the Gambia Tourism Board (GTBoard), Momodou Bamba Saho, along with members of the Board.
On the first day of the tour, the delegation visited several key locations in the North Bank Region, including Barra, Jufureh, Kerewan, Jahaur Mandika, and Nyanga Bantang. During the visits, the team inspected tourism facilities, engaged local stakeholders, and assessed potential sites for ecolodge development.
The tour is aimed at strengthening tourism development, enhancing destination management, and ensuring that projects across the regions are effectively monitored and supported.
The delegation is expected to continue its tour to other parts of the country, particularly in the hinterland, to assess existing facilities, identify challenges, and explore solutions to improve and promote Destination Gambia.
