President Adama Barrow on Monday inaugurated two newly constructed health posts in Balangharr Jaloto and Buduck in the Central River Region North as his Presidential Tour continues across the country.
The inaugurations formed part of the health-related interventions being undertaken during the President’s ongoing nationwide tour, highlighting the government’s continued investment in expanding access to healthcare services at the community level.
At Balangharr Jaloto, President Barrow inaugurated the new health post and handed over an ambulance to support emergency response and patient referrals in the community and surrounding areas.
He later proceeded to Buduck, where he inaugurated another newly constructed health post.
Speaking on the importance of the facilities, President Barrow stressed the need to bring healthcare services closer to remote communities, particularly for women who often have to travel long distances to access essential medical care.
He said the new health posts are intended to make basic healthcare services more accessible while improving the overall wellbeing of residents in the two communities.
The new facilities represent an important investment in strengthening healthcare infrastructure, particularly in communities where distance remains a major barrier to accessing health services.
For the Ministry of Health, the developments underscore the importance of strengthening healthcare delivery at the community level. By expanding health infrastructure beyond major population centres, the Ministry continues to support a more accessible and responsive health system that meets people’s needs closer to where they live.
The ambulance handed over at Balangharr Jaloto will further complement the investment by strengthening emergency transportation and referral services for patients requiring care beyond the health post.
For residents of Balangharr Jaloto and Buduck, the new health posts represent more than physical infrastructure. They bring essential healthcare services closer to families and are expected to reduce the challenges associated with travelling long distances to access medical care.
